The Power Within explores the most relevant issues facing women today. A celebration of who we are. Who we've been. How we feel about our health and well being. Our lives. Our loves. Our future and the world today.

Where do we turn to find our inner strength, faith and courage in times of crisis, loss and grief? How can we transform the dark times in our lives and find emotional strength, peace and wisdom?

This show is for every woman who has ever tried to balance her personal and professional life, who longs to take care of herself and the world around her, without sacrificing her deepest values and what she stands for.

We will showcase women's circles, their friendships, their joy, tears and laughter, and share the insights of some of today's most fascinating women in how they have found the inner resources to achieve personal wholeness as well as a way to participate in making this a better world.

We learn how to nourish our inner being, and to care for ourselves in a kinder more gentle fashion. Self Renewal. What does it take? We will explore women's relationship to the divine, the power of prayer and meditation, and the techniques women use to bring healing, balance and spirituality into their every day lives.

Jungian analyst Jean Shinoda Bolen names the powerful new energies or archetypes that come into the psyche of women as they get older, suggesting they have a profound and exciting reason to welcome the other side of forty - the juicy older women (I hate the word crone!) an idea that is generally uncelebrated in popular culture.

Further exploring the keys to self knowledge and wholeness, we uncover the feminine archetypes or 'goddesses' that permeate each and every woman which help to give her the inner strength she needs to not only sustain her in challenging times, but to give her the courage to be herself - to open up to her greatest potential. This show will explore our relationship to stress, to our bodies, and to the power of our beliefs as an anti-dote to the underlying assumptions of our market driven culture - Not good enough! Too old! Too fat! We will also take a satiric and hilarious look at ways to conquer the invader - facets and roles we can all recognize - the victim, martyr, invalid, warrior, bitch, mother etc.

Who is the Goddess and what does she mean? What does it mean to own our power? To make creative choices that honor what we want and what we need.

The Goddesses are a tool. A path to a new understanding of behavior patterns, of finding needed strengths and qualities within ourselves. These seven complex archetypes can be called upon according to a women's situation or undeveloped parts of herself to help her move past her limitations. One tip is to ask yourself, what would you personally like to have more of in your life? What do you have to do to live the life you want?

The highest value of these two specials will be the moments of recognition it will provide. According to Gloria Steinem, 'If a glimpse in the media of a female role model can have such important impact on the lives of women, how much more profound might be the activating and calling forth of an archetype within her?'

As Agapi Stassinopoulos states 'Whenever we hold back, doubt ourselves, or are not generous with ourselves, we are not connected. Whenever we stand fully in our own power and integrity, we are connected with our feminine spirit.'

Reflecting on the limitations women have experienced in the past, we can begin to envision more holistic ways of thinking about the Goddess, the earth and our place in it.

This show is about awakening and honoring the divine feminine. Ancient cultures have opened our eyes to the esteem in which women in Pre-patriarchal cultures were once held. This hour will feature believable real women - create meaningful rituals that help foster growth and understanding in women's lives. New paths to take. New ways to see and simply experience and bring forth what you are and what you might be.
