The search for authenticity. Authenticity as a spiritual path, as a creative path, nothing less than signs and wonders begin to happen in your life.
CAROLINE MYSS
The road to empowerment is the journey of increasing your own volume. Where what is increasing as you become conscious is your own sense of authority over the external world, over what has authority over you. In doing that you automatically increase - what increases is your sense of wanting to explore your power sexually, wanting to explore your sense of who you are and what you can and cannot do - what you’re capable of.
SARAH BAN BREATHNACH
Five years ago, I was hurtling so fast from one task to another in the course of a day, that my spirit literally felt as if it was running to catch up with me. I was worn to unravelling and I said, “This isn't how we're supposed to be living. I'm not supposed to be living this way.” And so I realized that sometimes in order to go forward we have to come to a full stop. And that's what I did to begin the simple abundance journey.
There are six principles. Gratitude, simplicity, order, harmony, beauty and joy. And they each grow out of the other one, and they're unseen guides. But it all starts with gratitude.
Because what gratitude does is, it opens the eyes of your awareness. e.e. cummings, the poet said, "the eyes of my eyes are open," and that's what happens with gratitude. You start to see how much you really have, and you start to make a deep inner shift.
If you're discontented with your life, there's a reason for it. You're meant to be changing it. But a lot of us do walk around sleepwalking. We're amnesiacs. We have forgotten who we really are.
The worst thing that we can ever do, the greatest risk that we can ever take, is playing it safe. Because we risk living the life that we're meant to live. We risk losing the very thing that we long to have.

Why are we so afraid to become conscious and empowered?
CAROLINE MYSS
We’re terrified of it. We think we’re attracted to it, but we’re only in book stores and in seminars. The fact is, I now believe, we are terrified of becoming conscious, healthy and empowered individuals.
We’re frightened of becoming empowered because, we have this notion that the healthy, conscious person doesn’t, quote, need anybody anymore. That health means no more needs, no more vulnerabilities. What we’ve done is we’ve taken the thing that breaks us down and decided that health is becoming opposite what makes us sick. If being emotionally needy and frightened makes us sick, health means having no fears anymore and never having any needs. This is illusion. Health is in fact this: The capacity to learn to manage the mysteries of your life. To work through and manage the vulnerabilities of your life. Not to end them as though they can stop, but rather to recognize that they're going to continue coming one day after another. And that the journey is not to solve your mysteries but to learn to live within the mysteries, the unsolved mysteries of your life.
