CAROLINE MYSS
We're designed to have our integrity tested so that we can in fact recognize the strength and the need for honour because this is where your honour code lives. Your sense of personal power.
Today, I would say most people are still struggling with the fact that they're not strong enough to promise themselves they will not in fact negotiate their spirit. They do. They do for money, they do for stature, status, they do for clout with another person. How do you negotiate your spirit? You lie, you promise something you can't keep, you tell someone what they want to hear, you sell yourself. And what you don't realize, what people don't realize is that it cost them spiritually, and that means it's going to cost you biologically.
But you want to develop a sense of power in the true sense. It's the strength to live life with others and never have to do those things to get by. That when someone says to you, “This is going to cost you”, and you say, “I'm sorry, I won't pay that price. I don't need anything more than I need to manage my spirit with integrity.”
I never, ever realized the role that honour plays and how essential honour is, not only to the maintenance of our health, but to our healing process.
