ONE WORLD
A Passion for the Possible

A Two Hour Special

Today's leading Visionaries present a bold look at personal and societal change. What are the solutions to the great challenges facing humanity today?

How do we move from a grand vision to actually making a difference in our world? How do we deal with adversity and loss? How can peaceful co-existence become a compelling and enduring vision for humanity in the 21st century? Is it possible? How?

"We need to think seriously whether a violent action is the right thing in the long run" states the Dalai Lama. "How do we deal with hatred and anger, which are often the root causes of such senseless violence? This is a very difficult question." How do we stop the hatred, and find forgiveness in our hearts?

Societal change can only begin with personal change. How can we deal with our own darkness and find peace within and bring that out to our world? What are the effective ways to achieve a healing among people to foster a sustainable world? And finally we must pose ourslves the quintessential questions for our lives. Who are we and where are we going? What are our priorities?

These quintessential questions will be interwoven with a visually striking cornucopia of the faces of humanity, all races, and cultural traditions performing the rituals that mark the passages of our lives -- we are all born, marry, have children, and die. Captivated in the rhythms of dance and music, in the throes of pain, war, and destruction, and in celebration and awe of life and the earth as we know it today. Can we glean the essence of our shared hopes, for our children and for our dreams of our future, and in the process discover our common humanity? Can a change in perception help us create a world that can nourish us all?

People do change. Humanity changes. The question for the new millennium is, of course, are we, humanity as a whole, ready to change?
