Dear Friends,
Thank you for visiting the Quest.
I do hope it inspires you.
I think we all share much the same
needs, for love, for understanding, to provide the best for those
we love, and to really make a difference in this world, even if
it 's just to a lone other whose life we may have touched.
I really believe that love and compassion
are the great missing links in the chain of humanity. All we have
to do is look at their powerful opposites, hate and intolerance,
to see how they tear the world apart with suffering and agony and
bitterness. Compassion and love are not just cheap sentiments, but
the most powerful weapons in our armament of truth and beauty and
well being.
The wonderful Irish poet, John O'Donohue,
said the wellspring of love is within every one of us; not one of
us was sent here without it. Every person coming from that place
of strength can find the courage to plant the seeds of compassion
in even the most deserted soul.
There's the old maxim, if you can
dream it, you can achieve it; to a great extent it 's true. You
can't let other people's opinion of you diminish you or your dreams.
David Whyte said it much more eloquently, "If you take only
one step, and it 's truly your own step, then you have saved the
only life you can save". Indeed, once we manage to get out
of our own way, incredible things happen.
I am so grateful for the opportunity
of doing this work. I hope the Quest will inspire your life as it
has mine. These people, these wonderful minds who grace the Quest,
are some of the most genuine, generous and insightful human treasures
we are fortunate to have in our midst. I thank them for sharing
their extraordinary words of wisdom and their passion for life with
us.
With warmest regards,
